In order to deliver the above core functionalities, the driveEDR app utilises access to fine grained location (GPS) information in order to accurately capture the route taken when driving and in order to accurately report the location of any vehicle crash events. This accessing of fine grained location information is automatically started when the TEP device connects with the driveEDR app when you are in your vehicle. The accessing of this location information will occur even if the driveEDR app is not visible in the phone screen (i.e. it will take place with the driveEDR app is in the "background") and for this reason the user must ensure that they select the option to grant the ALLY app access to location information "All of the time" when prompted when setting up the ALLY app.
