The Association and radio La Voz de Atitlán, live and online station; was born in the sixties under the tutelage of religious from the parish of the municipality of Santiago Atitlán. The Radio has forty-seven years of life making popular radio, with the Indigenous and non-Indigenous People, with alternative communication, under the principles of interculturality. This station occupies the first place of audience for the diversity of educational and cultural programs in the department of Sololá, part of the south west.

During his career, different social activities have been developed; (Forums, broadcasts, programming, training. It has received recognition from organizations that support the development of Guatemalan society, such as the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), which awards the Alternative Communication Award to Radio La Voz de Atitlán , for its programming in the defense and promotion of the rights of children and youth, in the year one thousand nine hundred and ninety-six.
