The Middle Ages (1250-1800 AD) in the history of Islamic civilization, is known as the period of decline. Since the fall of Baghdad on February 10, 1258 AD by the Mongolian army under the leadership of Hulagu Khan (d. 1265 AD), it is almost certain that Muslims no longer have significant social and political power.

This condition affects the reduction of scientific activity and the dynamics of thinking of Muslims. This situation is even more concerning with the proliferation of Sufi life practices which are institutionalized into various forms of tarekat sects. Since then, the Islamic sciences, which developed so rapidly in previous times, experienced a very significant setback. To mention one of them is fiqh.
