Steve Jobs is the most innovative business leader of our time.

Born in 1955 to two university students Joanne and Abdulfattah Jandali in San Francisco and adopted by Paul and Clara Jobs, Jobs had a difficult childhood. He met Steve Wozniak at Hewlett Packard during a summer job. Their liking for each other and inclination towards technological innovation resulted in lasting friendship and many inventions.

Steve Jobs co-founded Apple Computers with Steve Wozniak. Under Jobs' guidance, the company pioneered a series of revolutionary technologies, including the iPhone and iPad.

This is the story of a legendary-

• Who was instrumental in the transformation of the ways we think about and use products.

• Who was always on his toes and wanted to give the best to the world- not just satisfy or

delight customers, but give the customers such products, they would not even have thought about.

• Who thought so far ahead of times, that leaders in the market stumbled when he came out with one extra ordinary product after the other.

• Who had a maddening urge for perfection which reflected in the products he came out with.

• Who believed in total control of everything he did. That led him to have unique software

and unbreakable seals for his products.

Apple Computer :

In 1976, when Jobs was just 21, he and Steve Wozniak started Apple Computer in the Jobs’ family garage. They funded their entrepreneurial venture by Jobs selling his Volkswagen bus and Wozniak selling his beloved scientific calculator. Jobs and Wozniak are credited with revolutionizing the computer industry with Apple by democratizing the technology and making machines smaller, cheaper, intuitive and accessible to everyday consumers.

Pixar :

In 1986, Jobs purchased an animation company from George Lucas, which later became Pixar Animation Studios. Believing in Pixar's potential, Jobs initially invested $50 million of his own money in the company. The studio went on to produce wildly popular movies such as Toy Story, Finding Nemo and The Incredibles; Pixar's films have collectively netted $4 billion. The studio merged with Walt Disney in 2006, making Steve Jobs Disney's largest shareholder.

Jobs spent around seven months in India (1974) in search of spiritual enlightenment. This had a great impact on the way he handled triumphs and tribulations in his life; and also on the strict food habits (vegetarianism) which he followed till the end.

Steve, with the help of Wozniak and his technical team invented different versions of computers- Apple I (1976), Apple II (1977), Apple III (1979), Apple Lisa (1980), Macintosh (1984), before being ousted from the company in 1985. In the same year he founded NeXT computer and released Next workstations and NeXTcube in 1990. In 1986, Jobs bought The Graphics group, renamed it Pixar and produced a film Toy Story (1995). Pixar went on to produce many more movies which were critically acclaimed and appreciated. Few movies even won the Academy awards. In 1996, Apple bought NeXT, bringing Jobs back to the company which he had founded. From September 1997 to 2000, he was the iCEO of Apple (i for interim). Under Job’s leadership, Apple introduced many ‘new to the world products’-iMac personal computer (1998), ipod portable music player (2001), itunes digital music software (2001), the itunes store (2003), iphone (2007), ipad (2010) and

ipad2 (March 2011).

Jobs resigned as the CEO of Apple in August 2011and left for heavenly abode on 5th October 2011 after fighting a long battle with cancer.

Steve Jobs died in Palo Alto on October 5, 2011, after battling pancreatic cancer for nearly a decade. He was 56 years old.
