I am Malala a book for The writer Malala Yusufzai.

Malala Yusufi July 12, 1997 is a female Pakistani female educator and the youngest Nobel laureate ever. She was known for her advocacy of human rights, especially education and women's rights, in the Swat valley in Pakistan's northwest province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where her region was suffering from an attempt to ban the Taliban from going to school.

On the afternoon of 9 October 2012, Malala completed her school bus in the Swat Valley in northwestern Pakistan. Then a gunman boarded the bus and called her by name. He then pointed his gun to her head and fired three bullets. One of the bullets hit the left side of the forehead and went under the skin along her face. Malala was seriously injured and remained unconscious in the week following the attack. Her condition improved sufficiently later to be transferred to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, England, for comprehensive rehabilitation. On October 12, 50 Muslim clerics in Pakistan issued a fatwa condemning the people who tried to kill Malala. However, the Taliban reiterated their threat to kill Malala and her father Ziauddin Yusufi. The assassination attempt sparked a wave of national and international support for Malala.
