Personal Life:

He was born to Sri. K.P. Parameswaran Pillai and Smt. M.G. Gourikutty on 26 December 1949 at Thiruvanchoor, Kottayam, India. He is a B.A. graduate and has a degree in Bachelors of Law (L.L.B) from Thiruvananthapuram Government Law College. He is married to Smt. Lalithambika Radhakrishnan and has two sons and a daughter.

Political Life:

Thiruvanchoor entered public life as a student activist, through Balajana Sakhyam, Kerala Students Union (KSU) and Youth Congress, rising to become a leader in Indian National Congress (I). Thiruvanchoor, at different times, held many important positions within KSU, Youth Congress and KPCC, including:

He was elected to Kerala Legislative Assembly five times - 1991, 1996, 2001 and 2006 from Adoor and currently represents Kottayam Constituency (2011). He is currently Member, AICC and Member, KPCC Executive Committee and Member, KPCC Election Committee.

Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan is currently serving as a minister in Government of Kerala for the second term and holds the portfolio of Forests, Wild Life Protection, Environment, Sports, Kerala State Film Development Corporation, Kerala Chalachitra Academy and Kerala Cultural Workers' Welfare Fund Board, Road Transport, Motor Vehicles and Water Transport. Previously, he was a minister in Oommen Chandy Government from 2004 to 2006. The portfolios held include:
