Roadside assistance for car holidays abroad
Red Card - Roadside assistance for car holidays abroad gives you access to SOS International's roadside assistance wherever the Red Card covers in Europe.
You are covered by the Red Card if you have taken out a Danish hull insurance on the vehicle.
With the Red Card app, you can fill in an assistance report at the scene of the accident. You open the app and push your way through a few steps, collecting the necessary information about the damage and sending it to our call center. Along with the notification, GPS information is sent so that we can see exactly where your vehicle is located.
Our Danish-speaking call center receives your information and your exact GPS position, and calls you immediately to arrange the best help for you, your car and your passengers.
The first time you open the app, please enter your name, registration number (number plate) and telephone number, which is stored in the app, so that in an assistance situation you can call for help as soon as possible without having to enter further information. Although in some cases we can not find the information about your car, but you can still use the app and all its features.
The app has been developed in a collaboration between the insurance companies behind the Red Card scheme and SOS International.
With the application you can:
- Call for roadside assistance in Europe outside Denmark's borders in the event of breakdowns, punctures, downtime and traffic accidents
- See your exact geographical location (GPS information) which is sent automatically with the notification
- Create user information, which is sent automatically with the notification
- Create vehicle information, which is sent automatically with the notification
- See insurance terms for rescue insurance abroad
- See translated information about the Red Card scheme in different languages, which can be shown to the towing company, workshop or others involved in the assistance
- Plan your itinerary and see information regarding driving rules in the countries your route takes you through. You can subsequently transfer your route to e.g. Google Maps.- See contact information for SOS International
- See contact information for police, ambulance and fire authorities in that country based on GPS position
You should be aware of:
The app can only send assistance messages if it has permission to use location services. If the app does not have permission, you can turn it on under the phone's menu item Settings-Anonymity-Location services.
If you can not connect to the data network, the app will warn of a lack of coverage when opened and offer to call SOS International's Danish-speaking call center instead.
Red Card covers communication with SOS International, including telephone expenses.
