TerraMine

With TerraMine the user can browse the quarry zone of Asvestochori.

The municipality of Pylaia-Hortiatis participates as a Partner in the project entitled: "Sustainable Eco-Cultural Valorization of Mines and Quarries Sites in the Cross-Border Area" - "Terra-Mine" , which is financed within the European Cooperation Program INTERREG V–A "Greece - Bulgaria 2014-2020".

The corporate structure of the project is coordinated by the Municipality of Madan (Lead Beneficiary) and also includes as beneficiary partners the Municipality of Pylaia – Hortiatis, the Democritus University of Thrace (Department of Production and Management Engineering), the International University of Greece (Department of Business Administration) and the University of Mining and Geology "St. Ivan Rilksi".

The general objective of the Terra–Mine project is to preserve and exploit the old mines and quarries of the cross-border area for tourism purposes, strengthening cooperation between local actors, as well as enhancing their skills.

The financing body is the INTERREG – V–A “GREECE – BULGARIA 2014 – 2020” Program which is financed by 85% from the European Regional Development Fund and by 15% from national resources.
