Surah Al-Nur is the twenty-fourth surah within the eighteenth part of the Holy Qur’an, and it is one of the civil suras, and its name is taken from verse (35). ومن آياتها المشهورة قوله تعالى في الآية (35): ﴿اللهُ نُورُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ مَثَلُ نُورِهِ كَمِشْكَاةٍ فِيهَا مِصْبَاحٌ الْمِصْبَاحُ فِي زُجَاجَةٍ الزُّجَاجَةُ كَأَنَّهَا كَوْكَبٌ دُرِّيٌّ يُوقَدُ مِن شَجَرَةٍ مُّبَارَكَةٍ زَيْتُونَةٍ لّا شَرْقِيَّةٍ وَلا غَرْبِيَّةٍ يَكَادُ زَيْتُهَا يُضِيءُ وَلَوْ لَمْ تَمْسَسْهُ نَارٌ نُّورٌ عَلَى نُورٍ يَهْدِي اللهُ لِنُورِهِ whomsoever He wills, and Allah sets forth parables for mankind, and Allah is All-Knowing of all things.” And also the verses (11-26).
