Mohammad Moin was born in the ninth month of the second spring of 1297 AH in Gilan province in a religious family. His father, Sheikh Abu al-Qasim, and his father, Sheikh Muhammad Taqi Mo'in al-Ulama, and his father, Sheikh Muhammad Sa'ir, were both clerics.

Muhammad's education began in his hometown, and he completed his elementary education in two years. He studied the first three years of secondary education in Rasht and the second three years in the field of literature at the Dar al-Fonun High School in Tehran. He received his bachelor's degree three years later. A year later, he was sent to a high school in Ahvaz as a secretary. Three months later, he became the director of the Ahwaz Boarding School and studied practical psychology in correspondence at the Brussels School of Psychology.

Mohammad Moin returned to Tehran in 1318 and became the deputy director of the Ministry of Culture.

In 1325 Khorshid, when the publication of Dehkhoda dictionary began in accordance with the law in the National Assembly, Dr. Moin was sent to cooperate with "Ali Akbar Dehkhoda". Nine years later, the dictionary organization was moved from Dehkhoda's house to the National Assembly, and according to Dehkhoda's will, Dr. Moin was elected head of the organization's scientific affairs. In March 1983, the organization was transferred to the Faculty of Literature of the University of Tehran, and according to the new articles of association, the dictionary was headed by Dr. Mohammad Moin.

On the ninth day of the third month of autumn 1345, Dr. Mohammad Moin underwent anesthesia in the office of the Department of Persian Language and Literature, University of Tehran. He was admitted to Aria Hospital. He fainted from anesthesia. Ten months later, his unconscious body was taken to Canada for treatment. But nothing happened. Three months later, Dr. Mohammad Moin's body was brought to Iran in a coma at the same time and he was cared for at Firoozgar Hospital in Tehran for nearly four years. Finally, on July 4, 1971, Dr. Mohammad Moin died.

Dr. Mohammad Moin's body is buried in Astana, Ashrafieh, Gilan province.
