God Almighty sent Muhammad, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, with the final message that included the happiness of nations and the life of peoples, a stable life emanating from “righteousness and connection,” which is the highest level of worship in Islam. “Righteousness and connection” were among the greatest meanings contained in that message of Muhammad. Islam prescribed benevolence for everything, and made it the best of deeds to maintain the relationship between the servant and his Lord, and between individuals with each other. There is no doubt that relationships in any society are based, at best, on obligations from one party to the other party, and considering their performance for others, they are called “duties.” Considering their entitlement to others, they are called “rights,” and among those rights and duties were righteousness and connection.

And righteousness in the use of the Sharia: a word that includes all types of goodness, and what is meant by it is what is beyond the limits of piety. It is a rank above piety, and below the rank of charity. As for connection: it is kindness, tenderness, and the connection of God Almighty to His servants, His mercy to them, and His compassion, Glory be to Him, by His grace upon them or His connection to them with the people of His kingdom and companions. The highest, his closeness to them, and the explanation of their closed chests.

This book includes fifty-four, including: Chapter One: On mentioning what is reasonable in honoring one’s parents and maintaining family ties. Chapter Seven: On how to be kind to one’s parents. Chapter Sixteen: On mentioning the nature of disobedience. Chapter Twenty-one: On the sin of causing people to curse them. Chapter Twenty-sixth: On the reward of spending on one’s children, Chapter fifty: On sponsoring an orphan, Chapter fifty-four: On the fact that the people of goodness in this world are the people of goodness in the afterlife.

Ibn al-Jawzi is Abu al-Faraj Abd al-Rahman bin Abi al-Hasan Ali bin Muhammad al-Qurashi al-Taymi al-Bakri. A Hanbali jurist, historian, and theologian (510 AH/1116 AD - 12 Ramadan 597 AH) who was born and died in Baghdad. He enjoyed wide fame and a great position in rhetoric, preaching, and classification, and he also excelled in many sciences and arts. His lineage goes back to Muhammad bin Abi Bakr Al-Siddiq, and he was known as Ibn Al-Jawzi because of a walnut tree that was in his house in the town of Wasit, and there was no other walnut tree in the town, and it was said: in reference to “the walnut fardha”, which is the port of the Basra River.

Fifty-four doors and windows that open and illuminate, erasing from the heart the darkness of cruelty, self-love and evil.

Fifty-four chapters in which Ibn al-Jawzi narrates about virtues, accompanied by hadiths from the Sunnah, and stories from the Successors and Companions. That book accompanied me at a time when I needed it, at a time when I wanted my cloud to be removed from my soul and rain on my breath...and it was.

I will not speak for long or offer quotations, as the entire book is wisdom and a lesson for us... What affected me most were the chapters on honoring one’s parents and offering obedience to them, and urging submission and submission to them. I see our situation and the heart sinks, and I pray to God to forgive us for our shortcomings in their rights, and to have mercy on those who died.

One of the fun and delicious books, with a sweet style.. I recommend it. One of the books that I would like to buy is Paper.. to give it to everyone around me so that they may breathe as I did :)
