دلّت النصوص الشريفة من القرآن الكريم والأحاديث النبوية على عظم حقّ الجار، فقد أوصى الله -تعالى- بالإحسان إلى الجار في سورة النساء فقال -سبحانه-: {وَاعْبُدُوا اللهَ وَلَا تُشْرِكُوا بِهِ شَيْئًا ۖ وَبِالْوَالِدَيْنِ إِحْسَانًا وَبِذِي الْقُرْبَىٰ وَالْيَتَامَىٰ وَالْمَسَاكِينِ وَالْجَارِ ذِي الْقُرْبَىٰ وَالْجَارِ الْجُنُبِ وَالصَّاحِبِ بِالْجَنبِ وَابْنِ السَّبِيلِ وَمَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُكُمْ}، وبيّن رسول الله -صلّى الله عليه وسلّم- العلاقة الوثيقة بين الإيمان وإكرام الجار، وذلك بقوله: (مَن كانَ يُؤْمِنُ بالله والْيَومِ الآخِرِ فَلْيَقُلْ خَيْرًا، أوْ لِيصْمُتْ، ومَن كانَ يُؤْمِنُ باللهِ والْيَومِ الآخِرِ فَلْيُكْرِمْ جارَهُ، ومَن He believed in God and the Last Day, so he should honor his guest).

On the authority of Abu Hurairah - may God be pleased with him - he said: (A man said: O Messenger of God, is so-and-so remembered for her many prayers, almsgiving and fasting, except that she annoys her neighbors with her tongue? He said: She is in Hell. He said: O Messenger of God, so-and-so is remembered for his lack Her fasting, her alms and her prayers, and that she gives alms from the camets in alms, and does not harm her neighbors with her tongue?

Al-Dhahabi - may God have mercy on him - said that this hadith indicates the greatness of the neighbor’s right in Islam, the importance of being kind to him, not harming him, honoring him, and not insulting the neighbor and preserving his rights is a duty for the Muslim, so the hadith was mentioned in this way, as the Messenger of God - may God’s prayers and peace be upon him - made it Peace and blessings be upon him - in the position of the heir, that is, as if he were in the position of relatives to him with what they have of connection and benevolence.

Al-Dhahabi’s book “The Rights of the Neighbor” by Al-Dhahabi is of particular importance to researchers of Islamic sciences who are interested in the topics of asceticism, softness, and related topics. Which relates to many branches of Islamic knowledge, the sciences of jurisprudence and belief, and so on.

He is Abu Abdullah Muhammad bin Ahmad bin Uthman bin Qaymaz bin Abdullah al-Turkmani, of Faraqi origin, then of Damascene Shams al-Din al-Dhahabi, a scholar of hadeeth and a Hafiz imam. He combined two features that only the few ingenious people had together in our history, as he combines, in addition to the extensive knowledge of Islamic history, incidents and men, the extensive knowledge of the rules of wounding and amending men, so he alone was a self-contained school. Imam al-Dhahabi is one of the scholars who entered the field of history in the field of the Prophet’s hadith and its sciences, and this was evident in his great care for translations, which became the basis of many of his books and the focus of his historical thinking.
