It is rumored that Khanar's residence was in Deulia village (now Chandraketugarh archeological site, now known as Khanamihir's mound) in Barasat Sadar subdivision of North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. He is even said to be one of the Navaratnas of King Vikramaditya's court.
