In Islam, the Ahl al-Bayt Refers to the family of the prophet Muhammad

"Verily Allah intends only going to eliminate sin from you, O Ahlul-Bait and clear you a thorough cleansing." (Al-Ahzab: 33)

Ahlul-Bait in Arabic means "The House" or family. But in Islam, the use of the term Ahlul-Bait refers to the family of the Prophet Muhammad.

About who is included in Ahlul-Bait There, some opinions' scholars have different interpretations.

The first opinion says, is Ahlul Bait was the wife of the Prophet in particular. It is as narrated from Ibn 'Abbas,' Ikrimah, 'Atha`, Sa'id bin Jubair, and others.

The second opinion said, the question is' Ali bin Abi Talib, Fatima and Hasan and Husain in particular. This opinion was narrated from Abu Sa'eed al-Khudri, Mujahid, Qatadah, and others.

The third opinion is the opinion that combine both these opinions, that this verse includes them all. As for his wives included in this paragraph because they were mentioned in the context of these verses before and after, and they are the ones who live in the houses of the Prophet.
