Cavalier Alberto Beggio founded the Aprilia company. The first handmade Aprilia model was introduced in the late 1960s.

The birth of Aprilia began when Cavaliere Alberto Beggio opened a factory to manufacture bicycles in Noale, in the province of Venice.

With productions ranging from Aprilia parts to finished products, this small workshop enjoyed success, and in 1962, the sole proprietorship became a Joint Stock Company.

1968: Alberto's son, Ivano Beggio, joined his father in charge of the company in 1968, and when he produced the first 50cc Aprilia model in gold and blue, with a dozen or so assistants from the factory, it was clear that his interest was not in cycling.

There has been much talk around the world about the quality of product success. Colibri and Daniela were the names of the first Aprilia mopeds, but the model that stood out was the 1970 Scarabeo Cross model.

1979 In the decade, the company grew significantly: from 1969 to 1979, the annual production of Aprilia mopeds increased from 150 to 12,000, while the output for motorcycles exceeded 2,000 units per year in just four years.

In 1989, besides the technological content, all Aprilia motorcycles were distinguished by entirely new, original designs and graphic designs, thus making the chromatic monotony based on the traditional red and silver color of the motorcycle world history.

Aprilia made a good entry into the big bike category with the launch of the RSV Mille, which was nominated for Motorcycle of the Year in 1999. Then Aprilia made its first World Superbike participation.

Aprilia became a partner of the Piaggio Group in 2004. With the reorganization of the Noale Racing Division, the Group broadened the horizons of its racing activities. Off-road competition is back, and the Aprilia RSV4 made its World Superbike racing debut in 2009. With this ranking came six world championships from 2010 to 2014.
