How to Test for Originality?

The originality test is limited to 1000 words. If the text you want to test is longer than 1000 words, it is possible to test by dividing it. To scan:

Type the article you want to copy-check into the "Content to Test" field, paste it or "txt. Select and download the file from your computer with the "Upload File" button.

Click on the Originality Test button.

By clicking the test button, your article will be checked for duplicates in search engines. The scanning process will take a while depending on the computer and internet speed.

When scanning is complete, the entire article will be checked and the scanned text fragments and originality status will be listed. Pieces of original text will be marked with a green tick icon, and copies with a red cross. In addition, a link to the page containing the original of the text marked as a copy will be displayed. By clicking this link, you can open the web page with the original text.

As a result of the test, the originality rate will be given as a percentage. It is preferred that the rate of originality is one hundred percent. However, eighty percent is an acceptable limit.

What is Plagiarism

It is used as plagiarism in English and as plagiarism in Turkish. Plagiarism is a word of Arabic origin and it means to assign, to appropriate in Arabic. In Turkish, it means to appropriate a work that is not his own.

It was previously used mostly in academic circles. It means the use of scientific publications, articles and theses without specifying the source cited. It is considered an academic crime and such articles and theses are not accepted. Plagiarism also causes loss of reputation.

With the widespread use of the Internet and the uncontrolled publication of many articles on the Internet, the need to make a regulation about copy articles in this field arose. Today, search engines are meticulous in this regard and do not ignore the pages they detect copy text and do not index those pages.

Which Publications Are Considered Plagiarism?

Changing the name of the author and making an article as his own and publishing it.

Do not cite and cite sources.

Do not cite an article that is not allowed to be cited, even if the source is indicated.

Expressing a research in different sentences and not specifying the source from which it was taken.

Failure to name all collaborators and collaborators.

Do not write any event or news in sentences that were previously written by someone else.

Do not change the date of a self-written article and republish it as new.

Publications Not Counted as Plagiarism

Putting the quoted part in quotation marks, specifying the author, date and source of publication.

When writing a research, work or idea, do not name the owner.

Do not write the event or news in your own words.

Indicate the names of all those who participated in the study in the collaborative study.

Not being able to write a historical or known event (ex: "Google was founded in the state of California, USA on September 4, 1998" is not within the scope of copying, although the sentence is exactly mentioned in different sources.)
