Barrister Parvateesam – Synopsis:

Barrister Parvateesam is the most humorous novel ever, written by Mokkapati Narasimha Shastry in the year 1924. This work is regarded as one of the best-written novels in India. I know this novel because of my 10th class studied in Andhra Pradesh. The State Govt. Education Board included this novel in Telugu subject (Non-detail). It’s a popular novel even before including in the Telugu subject book as it was written in 1924.

బహుశా తెలుగువారిని హాస్యంలో ముంచెత్తిన తొలి తెలుగు నవల ఇదేకాబోలు (Barrister Parvateesam). బ్రిటీషు పాలనాకాలంలో పార్వతీశం అనే బొత్తిగా లోకం తెలియని, గట్టిగా తనఊరు దాటి పక్కఊరికి కూడావెళ్ళని ఒక పల్లెటూరికుర్రాడు, బారిష్టరు చదవడానికి ఏకంగా ఇంగ్లండు వెళ్ళడానికి ఇంట్లో ఎవరికి చెప్పకుండా ప్రయాణంకట్టడం, ఆ క్రమంలో అతని పాట్లు అమాయకత్వం చదివేవారిని కడుపుబ్బా నవ్విస్తాయి. సాతాళించిన శెనగలు కొనుక్కుని తింటూ పడవలో నరసాపురం నుంచీ తణుకు బయలుదేరినదగ్గర్నుంచీ, స్టీమరులోంచి కుడికాలు ముందుపెట్టి ఇంగ్లండులో కాలుమోపేవరకూ తన అమాయకత్వంతో, తెలిసీతెలియని మొండిధైర్యంతో మనల్ని పొట్టచెక్కలయ్యేలా నవ్విస్తాడు.
