About Bible Gourma

The Gulmancema language Bible in eastern Burkina Faso with Audio for NT

This application presents the Bible translated into language Gulmancema (also called: gourma, gourmanchéma) spoken in eastern Burkina Faso.

The Old Testament deals primarily with the relationship between God and the nation of Israel. The Pentateuch deals with the creation of the nation of Israel and establishing God with Israel, a relationship based on an alliance. The historical books narrate the history of Israel, its victories and success, along with its defeats and failures. Poetic books give us a more intimate perspective on God's relationship with Israel, and his ardent desire to receive the worship and obedience of his people. The prophetic books are God's call to Israel to his people turn from their idolatry and his infidelity and he returns to a relationship of obedience and spiritual fidelity.

Instead of Old Testament, the "First Testament" might be a better title. The term "old" refers to the image of something "old-fashioned" or "that is no longer relevant," which is far from true.

The New Testament is divided into five sections: the Gospels (Matthew to John), the historical section (the book of Acts), the Pauline Epistles (Romans to Philemon), the General Epistles (Hebrews to Jude) and prophecy (the Book of the Apocalypse). The New Testament was written between 45 and 95 AD Around in Koine Greek dialect (ancient Greek, spoke at the time of the first century AD).

The Gospels give us four different stories (without being in contradiction) of the birth, life, ministry, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Gospels present Jesus as the Messiah promised in the Old Testament, and lay the foundations of teaching developed in the rest of the New Testament. The Book of Acts records the works of the Apostles of Jesus, men Jesus sent into the world to proclaim the Gospel of salvation. They tell us the beginning of the Church and its rapid growth during the first century after Christ. The Pauline Letters (written by the Apostle Paul), are letters to specific churches, teaching the official Christian doctrine and practice is to follow this doctrine. General Epistles conclude the Pauline Letters by an additional instruction and practice. The book of the Apocalypse prophesies the events that take place at the end of time.
