Driven by the Department of Economic Promotion of the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, Bizkaia: talent was established in 2005 as an initiative of associative nonprofit with a clear mission: to promote and encourage the establishment in the Basque province of Bizkaia of necessary to attract, bind and retain highly skilled people in the process of innovation and knowledge conditions.

In the Basque Country over 2.1 million people and Bizkaia hosts more than half the population (1,153,351). Its capital, Bilbao, is the main economic and financial center and north of the Spanish State and its tourist attractions, with the Guggenheim to the head, making it the main tourist destination also in the Basque Country.

Bilbao and its metropolitan area are home to the main port in the north of the Spanish State, the headquarters of the second bag of the State and of such important institutions as the BBVA bank or utility company Iberdrola and the main technological and scientific park in the northern zone State, among other major assets.

In total Bizkaia houses a total of 83 706 companies belonging to the automotive industry, aeronautics, environment, industrial design and engineering, main sectors. Activities that have formed a solid business network in constant evolution, where training, research, technology and talent play an important role.

bizkaia: talent wants to promote and enhance the principal agent for the development of a territory, as is the human capital. Therefore, and to carry out our goal of attracting talent, we have the cooperation of leading companies and universities around the Basque Country.

The achievement of our goals we carry out through various activities:

We promote an ecosystem of enabling environment for talent.

We promote Bizkaia, its capital Bilbao and the Basque Country in general and labor destination-brand among professionals, creators and investigators in areas of strategic interest to the province.

We provide services and programs to facilitate the identification, access and incorporation of highly qualified people in organizations and projects of Bizkaia.

We create and develop social networks and communities of practice aligned with the strategy of the association.

Coordinate and streamline the dialogue with other public and private organizations in initiatives related to the mission of our organization.

We developed policy recommendations and participate in the design of policies related to the mission of bizkaia: talent.

With all these actions we seek to become the Basque leader and European reference model in the process of managing the highly skilled in scientific, technological and business fields. Our work also builds on a strong values ​​of professionalism, innovation, empathy and closeness, dynamism and creativity.
