The Buddhist Religion and Character Education Book for Elementary Schools was created as a guide for Buddhist teachers and students. The preparation of the Buddhist Religion and Character Education book is based on Learning Outcomes (CP) prepared by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology and has been aligned with the syllabus according to the 2021 Curriculum. This book has been reviewed, revised and studied by the team editor under the supervision of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology.

This Student Book consists of 31 lessons contained in 9 chapters. Chapters 1 to Chapter 5 each consist of 3 (three) lessons and chapters 6 to Chapter 9 each consist of 4 (four) lessons. The material contained in this book is relevant to the required competencies and adapted to the age development level of students. This book is presented with a concept that prioritizes the values ​​contained in Buddhist teachings which are expected to be able to shape Buddhist character for students.

In addition to containing material, this book also contains an assessment system along with expected results. It is hoped that this book will be able to describe the formation of the learning process from factual, conceptual and student activities. In this book, teachers can be creative themselves in making relevant practice questions and assessment materials according to the students' conditions.

The author presents material in language that is easy for students to understand according to the students' age. The author is a Buddhist education teacher who has sufficient competence to present this material in language that is easily understood by students according to their respective ages. As the term "There is no ivory that is not cracked" is similar to this book, the author is well aware that this book is not perfect.

Even though it was prepared with great care and responsibility, it is still far from perfect.
