The Cultural Arts for Class VII SMP/MTs presented in this book are designed to strengthen student competence in terms of knowledge, skills and attitudes as a whole. Arts and Culture are not activities and learning materials designed only to hone students' skill competencies, including activities and learning materials that provide knowledge competencies about works of art and culture and attitude competencies related to arts and culture. Arts and culture learning becomes a complete unity of these three competencies through the activities of creating fine arts, music, dance and theater.

Arts and culture learning is designed to be activity-based in a number of arts and culture domains, namely fine arts, music, dance and theater which are based on the richness of arts and culture as the nation's cultural heritage. Arts and culture learning activities are not only designed in the classroom but can be done through activities both organized by the school and outside the school or the surrounding community. Local content material can be added to arts and culture learning material that is extracted from local wisdom and is relevant in students' lives so that it is hoped that it can add to the enrichment of this book.

Arts and culture learning in this book can also be done in an integrated and complete manner. Integration and wholeness mean that basic competencies contain certain skills so that in their implementation they must be taught holistically so that students can master the skills, knowledge and attitudes in works of fine arts, music, dance or theater.

Arts and culture learning emphasizes an active student learning approach. Students are invited and have the courage to look for learning resources available in the school environment, home or residence as well as the community. Teachers can enrich their creations in the form of other appropriate and relevant activities that originate from the social and natural environment.

This book is the third edition as a refinement of the second edition. This book is very open and needs continuous improvement and refinement. For this reason, we invite readers to provide criticism, suggestions and input for improvements and improvements in the next edition. For this contribution, we thank you.
