How good is Declare at tracking foods?

FANTASTIC! Declare is built on a library of thousands of common foods (e.g. an apple), branded foods (e.g. Doritos) and restaurant dishes (e.g. Applebee’s Jalapeno Poppers). All our information is dietician verified to ensure accurate serving and dietary information. Our UPC scanner detected more than 90% of all branded foods in the US.

How does the weekly bonus bank work?

When you complete your food log at the end of each day, Declare compares what you ate against your calorie goal for the day. If you ate a healthy number of calories - enough to fuel your body and fewer than your goal - some of those extra calories you were allotted but didn’t use go into a bank that you can use later in the week. Need to go over your allotted calorie goal on a particular day? Declare will automatically dip into your bonus bank?

How do the extra weekend calories work?

Using some basic data such as your height and weight, Declare calculates a weekly calorie goal that will maintain a healthy level of food intake while allowing you to lose weight. That weekly goal is split up based on your preferences for how you eat during the week. Need an extra few hundred calories for Friday, Saturday and Sunday? Declare can automatically figure that out and give you the appropriate goal each day.

How does Declare calculate my calorie goals?

Declare bases its recommendations on scientific studies published by reputable institutions such as the National Institutes of Health. These recommendations generally take into account several factors such as height, weight, age, sex, and physical activity level. Declare also considers how quickly you’d like to reach your goal and how restrictive you’re willing to be with your daily calorie intake.
