The term skyscraper mentions a very tall building.

The height increase of the building is done to add the function of the building. For example high apartment buildings or high office.

Tall buildings are ideal inhabited by humans since the invention of elevators (elevators) and more powerful building materials. Based on some standards, a typical building is called a tall building if it has a height between 75 feet and 491 feet (23 m to 150 m). International Conference on Fire Safety in High-Rise Buildings defines tall buildings as "any structure where height can have a major impact on evacuation"

New Shorter Oxford English Dictionary defines tall buildings as "buildings with many levels"

Massachusetts General Laws means tall buildings higher than 70 feet (21 m)

Many engineers, inspectors, building architects and similar professions define tall buildings as buildings that are at least 75 feet (23 m) tall.

High-rise structures have design challenges for structural and geotechnical development, especially when located in seismic or clay areas having geotechnical risk factors such as high pressure or mud soils. Another not less great challenge is how firefighters work during emergencies on high structures. New and old building designs, building systems such as building stand pipe systems, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) systems, fire sprinklers and other things such as ladder and elevator evacuations experience such problems.
