International Development Week (IDW) is being observed in Canada from February 6 to February 12, 2022. The event is promoted by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA). It was initiated in 1990 by CIDA. The first event of IDW was held in 1998.

Why is International Development Week celebrated? International Development Week was initiated by the CIDA in 1990 to work for the fragile states and countries in crisis, countries of focus, and the Canadian population and institutions. The first ever event of International Development Week was held in 1998.
