Dialog AAC is the innovative Android application that offers a real development environment (intuitive, simple, and functional) for the creation of lists, structures, communication books addressed to people with difficulties in verbal language, characteristic, for example, of disorders of the autism spectrum (ASD). The goal of the Dialogo system is to improve the quality of life of people affected by this disease which, due to the frustration of the inability to understand and be understood, sometimes gives rise to problematic behaviors.

One solution is represented by Dialogo AAC which integrates and makes the best use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), i.e. a system that uses writing, symbols, images, tools or gestures to compensate for communication difficulties.

The application is equipped with a package of PACS (Pictures Animated Communication Symbols), which in addition to various classic symbols includes animated images, designed to attract the attention of a user, and help him better understand the meaning of the figure he is selecting.

Furthermore Dialogo AAC, given its completeness and simplicity in customization, is an amazing tool addressed to all those people who suffer from neurodegenerative diseases that temporarily or permanently limit the expressive language and / or mobility (ALS, SMA etc.) using interfaces of accessibility such as sensors, eye tracking, touchscreen, and movie face.

Through Dialog AAC it is possible to completely customize the final application with which the user will communicate, play, study, and practice with the people around him.

Basic functionality:

- Creation of Structures are simplified by the visual connection mode: each grid is displayed on the left and all the grids connected to it on the right, to always have at hand the logical scheme that is being created. During creation, you can also directly create links from your cells to the grids, whether new or chosen from those already created.

- Creation of fully customizable grids: choose the number of rows and columns, the background, the arrangement and number of cells, and the actions which that grid will perform when it is displayed.

- Customization of each cell: you can choose its shape, its style, its contents, and the actions which that cell will perform (to choose from more than 50 available commands) once selected by the user. You can choose an image from local memory or other cloud services, or use PACS, or even choose an image through a web search engine. The image can also be created from scratch, or modified, through an image editor integrated into the application.

The text can be inserted so that it is separated from the image or superimposed on it, you can choose its position, size, font, color, and orientation.

- Workbenches: allow the user to write documents (with or without images), perform math calculations, listen to music, watch videos, play flash content and much more!

- The user can interact with the app in different ways, chosen during the design phase and based on the type of pathology: he can use the touch selection in one-touch or two-touch mode, or use any sensor connected to your device through the scans (sequential, block, row and column) in manual or automatic mode.

You can also use the eye tracking selection if you have the right hardware.

- Sharing structures: you can create structures on one device, export them, and import them on another.
