Bio

Professor Robert Drysdale is one of the most accomplished tournament decorated Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belts in the entire history of this martial art. He is also arguably the most accomplished North-American Grappler in both Gi and No-Gi competitions in the World today. From 1999 to 2008 Robert lived full time in Sao Paulo Brazil where trained in BJJ full time, owned and operated a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu School. While training and competing for Legendary JJ team, Brasa Club in Brazil, he received his Black Belt in 2004 from the famed Leo Vieira.

Additionally, Robert Drysdale made the commitment to compete for almost 10 years. In this time span he competed in more than 100 traditional Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournaments and earned over 90 different Titles.That list of championships includes 6 different medals in the adult division at the Jiu-Jitsu Mundials (World championships) and the Jiu-Jisu World Cup, along with a number of other National and International tournaments. In 2005 Drysdale was the only Black Belt to win both the JJ World Cup and the Mundials the same year.

In 2007, Robert Drysdale won the Absolute weight class Open division at the ADCC (Abu Dhabi Combat Club) Submission Wrestling World Championship. This is the single most prestigious submission grappling tournament in the world and this event only takes place every 2 years going back to 1998. There are only a hand-full of ADCC open weight Champions in the World.

In 2008 Robert Drysdale moved from Sao Paulo, Brazil to Las Vegas, NV and promptly started training. In February of 2008 Robert Drysdale trained at the living legend Randy “the Natural” Cotures MMA training camp Xtreme Coture. Robert had the privilege of training with the best and was hired directly by Randy Coture to head up Xtreme Cotures Submission grappling and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program. From February 2008 to December 2008 Robert trained and coached at Extreme Coture and rapidly made a name for himself as one of the top Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu coaches in Las Vegas. He trained and coached some of the top MMA fighters in the world such as Vitor Belfort, Forrest Griffin, Frank Mir, Randy Couture, Wanderlei Silva, Kevin Randleman, Martin Kampmann, Evan Dunham, James Mcsweeney, Matt Riddle amongst many others.

In December of 2008 Robert Drysdale opened his first official academy in the usa, Robert Drysdale Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu where he teaches, trains, and coaches full time.

In July 2010 Robert started his professional career in MMA. Going 6-0 and winning all his matches by submission in under two minutes. Robert recently signed with the UFC where he plans on making a name for himself amongst the best fighters in the world.
