An excellent app for university graduates to find jobs online

Malaysian graduate unemployment in 2017 was approximately 204,000, constituting about 40.5% of total unemployment. Youth unemployment was at its highest ever recorded at 10.8 per cent. Sabah was first among the states in Malaysia with the highest number of unemployed graduates at 27, 540 (13.5%), compared to Melaka with only 5, 916 (2.9%). This alarming rate of unemployed graduates in Sabah is triggered by the lack of information on current job opportunities available. The graduates are not aware of the various career options available for them. In trying to address this issue, there is an urgent need to introduce a mobile application which can serve as a platform or a ‘one-stop-center’ for all unemployed, new graduates or individuals who are seeking for information on full time or part time job opportunities available in the government and private sectors. The aim of this mobile application (e-jobs) is to give users the ease of searching for employment opportunities by providing links to trusted and useful job search websites, to provide useful information on how to ace in resume writing and job interviews. e-jobs can be considered as a ‘toolkit’ for all job seekers looking for full time or part time jobs, as it provides all the important and related information in one mobile application. The uniqueness of e-job compared to other platforms are; (i) designed for Sabahan job seekers, (ii) provides related information (tips for resume writing and job interview) in one application (iii) provides link to reliable job finder websites (iv) user can filter their search based on required criteria for more effective and efficient search (i.e. full time or part time jobs, by location; to be improved from time to time). e-job has a high possibility for commercialized in terms of providing advertisement space and to earn subscription fees from VIP users that desires extra services.
