Walk across the east bay as you virtually tour three of your East Bay Regional Parks. Join Naturalists to discover some of the plants, animals, and habitats that make each park a special place. Through interactive videos and images, a naturalist will teach you about some of the wonders found in each area.
East Bay Regional Park District is a system of beautiful parklands and trails in Alameda and Contra Costa counties to the east of San Francisco. The system comprises nearly 125,000 acres in 73 parks, including over 1,250 miles of trails. Each of these parks protects the plants, animals, ecosystems, and history that makes the East Bay such a unique place.
Briones Regional Park: A small and amazing amphibian lives its life in and around the ponds and creeks found high in the hills of Briones Regional Park. Discover this animal’s surprising superpowers, and how it thrives in this habitat. The California Newt is listed as a species of special concern with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.
Tilden Nature Area: The Nature Area is a place for people of all ages to discover and learn about the natural world. Here you can do a virtual dive into our study pond to explore life beneath the surface. Standing on the shores of Jewel Lake and learn about some of the animals that live here.
Sunol Regional Wilderness: Known for its remote beauty and abundant wildflowers, this virtual tour gives you a chance to explore springtime in these hills and learn about the flowers that are found here.
Educational uses: The app is designed for people of all ages to explore the Regional Parks in a virtual way. Each park tour contains multiple interactive points that can be view independently or as part of a larger digital learning experience.
