These earrings are easy and fast to make, and really cheap.

You only need basic tools and you can use small piece of scrap leather.

They are really lightweight, and they don't get mess up like the real feather one.

Step 1: WHAT YOU NEED

-scrap leather;

-earrings  hooks;

-crimps;

-transparent leather acrylic;

-copper or gold dust;

-Tools: good scissors, pliers, small brush.

+some decoration that you want (little chains, mini studs, beads, etc)

Step 2: DRAW THE SHAPE

Draw some feathers shape that you like on a piece of hard paper and cut them. The top part of the feathers should be large like the crimps.

Step 3: CUT LEATHER

Draw the shape you draw on the leather and cut the shape on the leather, you can use different color of leather.

The bottom edges of the feather should not be sharpen because if not the leather get curly: so cut away a small pieces of it.

Step 4: MAKE CUT

Mache some cut in the feathers.

Step 5: PAINT

Mix the acrylic and the copper/gold dust, or use ready acrylic. Paint the feathers how you like. If the leather is already colored with a thick layer of paint you should sand it with fine sand paper.

Step 6: PUT THE CRIMPS

Put the feathers together and close the crimps around them with the pliers.

Step 7: DECORATE (optional)

Decorate the feathers how you prefere: I used some mini-studs.

Step 8: PLACE THE HOOKS

With the pliers open the hoop of the hooks and make it pass in the crimps hole, then close it.

Step 9: DONE!

You are done! You can make many different shapes with various decoration.
