About Easy Scroll (Beta) (Unreleased)

Scroll the content of your screen by using a floating widget

Tired of thumb-scrolling through documents, web pages, e-books and menus? Easy Scroll introduces continuous scrolling in any app - easily controllable via a floating widget on your screen.

In any app of your choosing, start the scrolling by swiping the floating widget, and stop the scrolling by tapping on the widget. Easy Scroll also features horizontal scrolling - turn a page in your favorite reader app via a simple widget swipe.

SETUP: Upon first start of the app, please select "Enable Easy Scroll", and follow the instructions to enable the accessibility service. Next, select "Enable floating widget". Follow the instructions to grant Easy Scroll the needed permission.

USAGE: To re-position the floating widget, do a long press on it, and move it to the desired position while keeping the finger down. To hide the widget, do a left or right swipe on it. It will be moved to the left or right margin. To bring it back, swipe inwards from the margin.

To start scrolling down, do a swipe down gesture on the widget. To stop scrolling, tap on it. To start scrolling up, do a swipe up gesture on the widget. You can select the speed of scrolling in "Primary scrolling speed". In order to activate two-speed scrolling control, choose a value in "Secondary scrolling speed". Now, when you do a regular swipe on the widget, scrolling will be performed at this speed. However, when you do a "slow swipe" (i.e. a swipe motion lasting more than 1/2 second) on the widget, scrolling will be performed at the primary speed. (We recommend to select a lower value for "Primary Speed" than the default for two-speed scrolling.)

You can also have Easy Scroll do a page swipe instead of continuous scrolling. For this, select a value in "Page scroll". Now, when you do a normal swipe on the widget, there will be a fast scroll of the selected length. A slow swipe will still trigger continuous scrolling at primary scrolling speed.

PLEASE NOTE: Easy Scroll performs scrolling by doing an automated swipe gesture on behalf of the user. The smoothness of scrolling depends on how much resources in general Android allocates for performing such automated gestures. Also, in those apps (or web pages) that are slow to refresh their content while scrolling, there can be a perceptible lag in executing automatic scroll (just as there would be with regular finger scrolling).

This app uses Accessibility services.

ACCESSIBILITY PERMISSIONS:

- "Perform gestures": For performing the automated swipe gesture for scrolling

- "Retrieve window content": For auto-detecting scrollable content

- "Monitor your actions": For deactivating the widget when an app is on the exclusion list or the soft keyboard is being displayed
