Biography of Imam Ibnul Qoyyim Al-Jauziyyah

His real name is Syamsuddin Abu Abdillah Muhammad bin Abi Bakr bin Ayyub bin Sa'ad bin Huraiz az-Zar'i, then ad-Dimasyqi. Known as ibnul Qayyim al-Jauziyyah the nisbat for a madrasa founded by Muhyiddin Abu al-Mahasin Yusuf bin Abdil Rahman bin Ali al-Jauzi who died in 656 H, because Ibnul Qayyim's father was a milestone for the madrasa. Ibnul Qayyim was born into a knowledgeable and respectable family on the 7th of Shaffar 691 H. In the village of Zara' from the village of Hauran, southeast of Dimasyq (Damascus) as far as 55 miles.

In the end, he really started totally (studied intensively) to Ibn Taimiyah after the return of Ibn Taimiyah from Egypt in 712 H until his death in 728 H.
