In the fashion world, new designs are presented in the form of sketches drawn manually by hand, before the fabric is cut and sewn. First of all, you draw a basic sketch, the basic form of a model body (croquis) that forms the basis of a sketch. The point is you are not drawing realistic body shapes, but a blank canvas to show you dress, skirt, blouse, accessories and all your creations. Add color and other details like lace, lining, and buttons, to help you illustrate the ideas that come to mind.

- Prepare your equipment. Choose a sketch pencil (H pencil is the best type) that produces a line of sketches that are not too dark and easily removed.

- Define the poses for your sketch. The model in your design is called croquis, and should be drawn in the best pose to show your design. You can draw a model in a walking pose, sitting, ducking, or other position. As a beginner, you can start with a common pose, a runway sketch depicting a model that is standing or walking when doubting clothing. This pose is the easiest to draw and you can illustrate your design in full view with it.
