- Fishing as an activity has been practiced since Prehistory, becoming one of the foundations of the diet of many peoples, although the precise moment when this noble art began is not known exactly, the documents that history has left are very varied, the oldest known painting being that of an angler from ancient Egypt, dating back about 4000 years.

CURIOSITIES:

- the first fishing rods date back to 2000 BC. and they arose to better manipulate the thread tied to a hook. The first were branches.

- The first hook on record dates back to 4200 years, it was found on the East Timor Island and is made of bone.

- It is estimated that in the world there are between 200 and 700 million recreational fishermen.
