Free GSM Collision Warning

Our app “FlyGuide” gathers the flight position data of its users and displays them on a commonly used interface to everybody running the app. Our aim is to increase the safety of all of us in the air by sharing each other's GPS positions just with your smartphone. You don't need any other expensive equipment. This way, we want to help minimize the risk for collisions in the air between vehicles of any kind. This risk is currently still significant - especially around uncontrolled airfields - where severe accidents happen on a yearly basis and casualties are often the result.

Today’s technology provided by smartphones helps us to mitigate this risk by making others aware of our personal position and showing the position of others on our smartphone too. Find out how it works.

ISSUES KNOWN:

As you might imagine, things are not all working as expected. Therefore also our app has some limitation we are trying to improve over the time.

1. Background location

The app does not yet support working on background. It stops working, if you switch the screen off. We are currently working on this feature and hope to solve this problem in one of our next versions.

2. Support for wearables

Currently all warning notification are also delivered to your wearables. In the future we will make it much more efficient to get you updated by wearables only. Then you can put your smartphone in your pocket. Just a small glimpse at your smartwatch and you get all relevant information you need to know about your current flight.
