Gibre Himamat is an Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo book that is read in Holy week, the last week of Lent. The book contains readings of Palm Sunday, Holy Monday, Holy Tuesday, Holy Wednesday (Spy Wednesday), Maundy Thursday (Holy Thursday), Good Friday (Holy Friday), Holy Saturday and Easter. The book contains readings from Holy Bible, Orthodox Canonical books, Synaxarium, Miracles of Jesus Christ, Miracles of Saint Mary, Prophecies, Prayer Books, Haymanote Abew, Prayer of Covenant, Gedles and more Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo church books.

The secret purpose of this book is to remind us that the Lord has given us the pain, the death, the eternal freedom and glory in His resurrection, and that He is the God of life without pain and death, read and rehearsed every day in this holy week
