GlobeARound is an augmented reality app for smartphones

GlobeARound to Constellation is an augmented reality app for smartphones for use with the Globe Constellation from Tecnodidattica/Räthgloben to discover the starry sky, constellations and numerous astronomical objects, such as double stars, nebulae and galaxies.

If you take a picture of the globe's sphere with your device's camera, the most important constellations symbolically appear on the screen in "augmented reality" with the most interesting astronomical objects that characterize the individual constellations.

With a simple tap of your finger, you can select individual items and view images and in-depth information.

The app includes:

- 20 characters related to as many astronomical constellations that float above the star map and can be viewed in augmented reality on the globe in “night mode”, that is, with the lights on;

- 20 descriptive text cards containing general information about the constellation, the history and mythology of the character depicted, the main stars and celestial objects in the constellation, as well as tips for identifying them in the sky;

- more than 40 3D objects positioned in AR on the star globe, representing astronomical objects such as star clusters, nebulae and galaxies, each accompanied by explanatory photos taken with the most powerful telescopes;

- 4 detailed 3D films about astronomical geography: the rotation and rotation of the Earth, the astronomical seasons, the movement of the Moon around the Earth and the phases of the Moon, the time zones and time differences on the globe.

In addition to the augmented reality navigation mode, the interactive content can also be accessed via a simple interactive 3D interface with just a few finger touches.

This is how it works:

- Download the GlobeAR app via a QR code or online store link;

In AR mode:

- Use the app in a dark room and turn on the globe light.

- Choose a constellation

- Take a picture of the constellation of your choice on the globe with your smartphone;

- Tap the magnifying glass icon next to each constellation for further information.

In 3D mode:

- Select the constellation to view using the 3D interface;

- Navigate like in the AR version.

All content of the app comes from Tecnodidattica: there are no links to external websites or advertising.
