About Guanyin Wallpapers

4K, HD, HQ Guanyin wallpapers, vertical backgrounds

Guanyin is the most widely used Chinese translation of the bodhisattva known as Avalokiteśvara. Guanyin is the Buddhist bodhisattva associated with compassion. In the East Asian world, Guanyin is an equivalent term for Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva. Guanyin also refers to the bodhisattva as adopted by other Eastern religions. She was first given the nickname "Goddess of Mercy" by Jesuit missionaries in China. The Chinese name Guanyin is an abbreviation of Guanshiyin, which means "[Perceiving the Sounds of the World]." On the 19th day of the 6th lunar month, Guan Shi Yin's attainment of Buddhahood is celebrated.

Some Buddhists believe that when one of their followers left this world, they were placed by Guanyin in the heart of a lotus and then sent to the Pure Land of Sukhāvatī in the west. Guanyin is often called "the most beloved Buddhist Deity," having miraculous powers to help all who pray to it, as said in the Lotus Sutra and Karandavyuha Sutra.

Many significant temples in East Asia to Guanyin, including Mount Putuo, Shaolin Temple, Longxing Temple, Puning Temple, Nanhai Guanyin Temple, Dharma Mountain, Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho Temple, Shitennō-Ji, Sensō-Ji, Kiyomizu-Dera is dedicated. Guanyin's abode and Bodhimanda in India are recorded to be on Mount Potalaka. With the localization of the Guanyin faith, each region adopted its own Potalaka. It is located in Fudarakusan-ji, Potalaka of Japan. The Potalaka of Tibet is the Potala Palace. There are several pilgrimage centers for Guanyin in East Asia. Putuoshan is the main pilgrimage site in China. 33 temples in Korea include Naksansa. There are several pilgrimages to Guanyin in Japan. The oldest of these is the Saigoku Kannon Pilgrimage, a pilgrimage through 33 temples with Guanyin shrines. Guanyin is loved non-denominationally by all Buddhist traditions and is found in most Tibetan temples under Chenrezig. Guanyin is also loved and worshiped in temples in Nepal. Hiranya Varna Mahavihar in Patan is an example. Guanyin is also found in some influential Theravada temples in Sri Lanka, such as Gangaramaya, Kelaniya, and Natha Devale near Sri Dalada Maligawa. Guanyin can also be found at Thailand's Temple of the Emerald Buddha, Wat Huay Pla Kang (whose huge statue was mistakenly called the "Great Buddha"), and Burma's Shwedagon Pagoda. Guanyin sculptures are a widely depicted subject of Asian art and are found in the Asian art sections of most museums worldwide.
