Dr. Frank Charles Thompson was a young preacher at the end of the 1800s. He believed that the Bible should be presented in a simple way, but at the same time in an academic manner. He saw the need for a well-organized reference Bible that would provide practical use to lay people and church ministers alike.

Today the Thompson Bible is known around the world and has been translated into several languages (Spanish, Portuguese, German and French).
