This book departs from anxiety after Gus Dur's death. Anxiety about the development of Gus Dur's thinking, when his thinkers had founded the "earth republic in heaven".

Departing from this anxiety, the co-author of the Gus Durian Jakarta Network held a Gus Dur Thinking Course. So, this book is an advanced elaboration of the material that the author conveyed in the course. The course itself is a step taken by the author and his friends to academicize Gus Dur's thoughts, because until now this famous Islamic intellectual thought has not yet entered the academic world, either transforming into a separate Abdurrahman Wahid University or becoming a special subject.

As a student and eternal admirer, the writer has indeed dedicated his life to deepen and develop Gus Dur's thoughts. After completing this book, the author is currently translating Gus Dur's English papers which are material for seminar presentations abroad. After that, the author will write a book on Gus Dur's Islamic thoughts based on the texts of these long English papers which are the basis of his early Islamic intellectualism. In essence, a lot of work of thought that will fill the path of this life, and all of it pivots on a beautiful name: Abdurrahman Wahid!. The author wants to transform Indonesia through Gus Dur's transformation.

For all the works and breaths of life, the author would like to thank the wise men, H. As'ad Said Ali, parents, teachers and leaders who gave love without thinking, Prof. Dr. Abdurrahman Mas'ud who always opens structural opportunities within the Ministry of Religion. In his research work, the writer finds Islam as a strategic category which will be the writer's path.

Hopefully this application can be useful as material for study and become a loyal friend anytime and anywhere without having to be online.
