i.Safe (Sophy Assistance)

Access control, localization and safety of employees in the workplace.

The i.Safe (Sophy Assistance) app is an application integrated into a service that companies offer their employees for monitoring safety in the workplace.

It can only be used if connected to the server of the company that provides the service.

Peculiar functions:

- locate the user to authorize them to enter particular company areas or report unauthorized access

- use of the app as a remote control for some functions (gates, alarms, etc.)

- user surveillance when operating in risk areas (ManDown)

- automatic telephone call in case of illness (“man down” function).

Surveillance to be effective requires that the app is always active with the location also in the background.

Collected data:

1. GPS location

The app uses location - even when the app is not visible (in the background) - to determine the user's location relative to their company's sites.

Near these sites the position is sent to the server, which uses it to activate specific functions for the site reached.

Away from the systems, the position is constantly acquired but is NOT transmitted or stored by the app.

The transmitted data is used and stored only on the company server.

NB: in the absence of localization the app is unusable.

2. Phone calls

In areas where the "Man Down" function is active, in the event of an alarm the app initiates an automatic call to the emergency numbers defined by the company; the app also automatically responds hands-free to calls from specific company preset numbers.

The app does NOT access the contacts in the address book; does not store and does not communicate any data relating to calls made / received or to text messages.

3. BlueTooth

To improve the location of the device, the app constantly monitors (even when in the background) the BlueTooth (BLE) tags installed by the company, and sends the reading to the company server for the activation of specific functions.

Other BLE tags are not detected by the app.
