HISTORY OF AQUARIUM

Ancient era

In the Roman Empire, the first fish brought in the room was a sea barbell, which was stored under the guest bed in a small tank made of marble. The introduction of glass panels around the year 50 BC allowed Rome to replace one of the marble tank walls, increasing their view of fish. In 1369, the Emperor of China, Hóngwǔ, founded a company that produced porcelain like large porcelain to guard carp. From time to time, people produced a body that approached the form of a modern fish bowl Leonhard Baldner, who wrote Vogel-, Fisch-und Tierbuch (Birds, Fish, and Animal Books) in 1666, managed weather loaches and newts.

In 1836, shortly after his discovery of the Wardian case, Dr. Nathaniel Bagshaw Ward proposed to use his tanks for tropical animals. In 1841 he did it, even if only with water plants and toy fish. However, he immediately placed a real animal. In 1838, Félix Dujardin noted that he had a saltwater aquarium, although he did not use the term. In 1846, Anne Thynne maintained coral reefs and seaweed for almost three years, and was credited as the creator of London's first balanced marine aquarium. similarly, Robert Warington experimented with 13 gallon containers, containing carp, eelgrass, and snails, creating one of the first stable aquariums ... He published his findings in 1850 in the journal Chemical Society.

Aquariums from the 1850s containing Vallisneria spirals and cold water fish.

Maintaining fish in an aquarium is a popular hobby and spread quickly. In England, it became popular after an ornamental aquarium in an iron frame displayed at the Great Exhibition in 1851. In 1853, the first large public aquarium was opened at the London Zoo and became known as a fish house. Philip Henry Gosse was the first person to actually use the word "aquarium", opting for this term (not "vivarium water" or "aqua-vivarium") in 1854 in his book The Aquarium: An Exposure to the Miracle of the Deep Sea. In this book, Gosse mainly discussed saltwater aquariums. In the 1850s, aquariums became a trend in the UK. Tank design and techniques for maintaining water quality developed by Warington, then worked with Gosse to critically review the composition of water tanks. Edward Edwards developed this 1858-glass glass-fronted patent for the "dark-water tank-slope-back room", with water slowly circulating to the lower reservoir.

So an aquarium is a vivarium that consists of at least one transparent side where living water plants or animals are stored. Use an aquarium to keep fish, invertebrates, amphibians, marine mammals, turtles, and aquatic plants. This term combines aqua Latin root, which means water, with the suffix-Arium, which means "a place to relate to".

And here is a creative aquarium design.

Good luck!!
