Sheikh Muhammad Al-Muhaisni

Muhammad bin Sulaiman Al-Muhaisni is a Saudi cleric and businessman, born in 1965. He works as a part-time imam of the Aisha Al-Rajhi Mosque in Mecca, and a former imam of the Al-Qatari Mosque in Mecca, as well as a former imam in Buraidah (Al-Montazah district) and Riyadh.

His upbringing

Sheikh Al-Muhaisni began leading people in prayer early, around the age of 15, and the first mosque to lead the congregation was the Nasser bin Sulaiman Al-Abbas Mosque in the Al-Khalidiya neighborhood (formerly Al-Anouz neighborhood) in the city of Riyadh. Al-Muhaisni followed the Al-Hadr method (speed reading). Sheikh Al-Muhaisni is considered one of the innovators of the Sunnah of crying and humility when reciting God’s verses in this era, as he is the first reciter to be recorded with humble and tearful readings after the majority of readers in the Islamic world neglected this aspect and were content to focus on performance in reading and the rules of intonation. The first recordings of Sheikh Al-Muhaisni appeared. From the year 1408 (limited Qur’anic surahs), then the complete Qur’an of Tarawih reading and prayers for the year 1409, when the reputation of the Sheikh spread after the complete revelation of the Qur’an in Islamic records.

Sheikh Al-Muhaisni began the imamate in Riyadh, then moved to the city of Buraidah, where he became famous and widely known. Then he moved to Mecca. Sheikh Al-Muhaisni was banned from preaching in 1414 AH for political reasons.

His recordings

After that, various recordings of Sheikh Al-Muhaisni’s voice appeared in the following years, including Qur’an 1411 and Qur’an 1414, the last of which was Qur’an 1428, which was recorded from the Sheikh’s reading during Ramadan when he led the worshipers in the Qatari Mosque in Mecca, as is his custom in recent years.

Tarawih prayers and Sheikh Al-Muhaisni’s voice have been broadcast over the past years live and directly, and some Islamic recordings have recorded tapes of the Sheikh’s reading, including a tape titled: “One of the Most Wonderful Recitations.”

I recorded wonderful sermons and lectures by the Sheikh, most of which are from Friday prayers, and they are on many and widespread tapes. The Sheikh has sermons and lyrics in a beautiful chanting style, including: “Farewell to Ramadan,” “No, it is rain,” “And when Paradise is drawn near,” “The end of man and his destiny,” and “Being righteous to one’s parents.” And “the virtue of praying at night” and others.

Al-Qadisiyah Foundation recorded a Qur’an of Al-Muhaysini’s reading in the year 1430 AH and various tapes of Qur’anic surahs and supplications. Before this Qur’an, two Islamic television channels, “Al-Majd” and “Al-Fajr,” broadcast a visual Qur’an of Sheikh Al-Muhaysini’s reading in the form of a complete completion of the Holy Qur’an.
