Best Kendo Martial Art

Kendo is one of the oldest japanese martial arts originating from the Budo tradition. in Budo, "do" means a way or a way to develop oneself through martial arts. Kendo not only teaches Physical Swordsmanship, but also teaches the philosophy inherited by Budo. In Kendo we can develop a strong Soul, a positive outlook and stance and a way of respecting one another.

Kendo players swim with the use of a flexible bamboo sword (shinai) to hit the target on the opponent's protective clothing. Basic attacks in kendo:

a. Men

Men attack on the opponent's head. The sword is lifted up to the top of the head then swung to the head of the opponent.

b. Kote

The Kote attack is aimed at the opponent's right hand. The part of the targeted hand is the area around the wrist.

c. Do

The Do attack is aimed at the opponent's stomach. The Do attack is also done by lifting the sword upward and then directed to the left side of the opponent's abdomen (the viewing angle of the attacker).

d. Tsuki

Tsuki's attack is a puncture to the neck. Tsuki usually began to be taught to the middle-level kendoka. Tsuki is not taught to the novice kendoka, because this attack is very dangerous when missed.

Kendo practice
