HD Camera for sony XA Ultra HD 4K, front-facing camera on the XA Ultra is impressive, more impressive than the main camera on the small XA. So the back camera had to be upgraded too, it got a 21.5MP . We don't want an Oppo F1 Plus situation where the selfie cam is better than the one on the back

The X-peria XA Ultra uses a 21.5MP camera, The camera has hybrid autofocus (contrast + phase detection) and supports object tracking, although this feature doesn't seem to work as good as it does on its X stablemates.

The selfie camera is an 16MP camera, It also has its own flash and optical image stabilization to boot. It's the most impressive selfie camera among the new X series (actually, the most impressive selfie cam Sony has ever made).

HDR mode can only be enabled manually in, um, Manual mode, but Superior Auto has you covered with Backlit scene mode, when it recognizes that it's a difficult high-contrast scene. Manual HDR tends to produce super saturated over the top images. For comparison, check out the shots below.
