What is the Trail?

Gandhi's dream of a clean and safe India for a woman's journey – A reality check by travelling India, as an experiential audit of sanitation facilities

• A commemorative journey from UAE – Year of Sheikh Zayed (Founding Father) through India – 150th Anniversary of Gandhiji (Father of the Nation)

• Endorsed by Incredible India – Union Minister of Tourism

• Citizen-lead audit trail of sanitation and woman-safety

• Promotion of Clean activism amongst children through school/colleges, Responsible Tourism and Corporate Sanitation CSR at City-Events

• 150 cities of India stayed and 310 cities traversed in 1 Pan-India journey

The Route

Why the journey

• A journey to spearhead the CLEAN INDIA citizen trail, by experiencing the state of sanitation infrastructure and facilities along the BHARAT MALA route, driving in a MADE IN INDIA vehicle and living in it throughout the journey.

• Build – Operate – Transfer model of Swachh Bharat Mission to NAARI SHAKTHI (post Oct 2019) – to encourage women to undertake shorter sanitation trails in their own city / state safely

• An opportunity to spread the pride of New India – to School children through events in the visiting city (SBM Pledge & Responsible Tourism)
