Theology (from the Greek θεος [theos], 'God', and λογος [logos], 'study', 'reasoning', would mean 'the study of God' and, Facts related to God ') is the study and set of knowledge about divinity. Theology begins with the fact of the unequivocal existence of God. This is why Theology does not deal with the empirical demonstration of its existence, since it assumes this statement.

Aristotle used the term on numerous occasions with two meanings:

Theology at the beginning as a denomination of the mythological thought immediately previous to the Philosophy, in a pejorative sense, and mainly used to call the theologians to the old non-philosophers thinkers (like Hesiod and Ferécides de Syros).

Theology as the fundamental and most important branch of Philosophy, also called first philosophy or study of the first principles, later called Metaphysics by its followers and that to distinguish it from the study of the being created by God, the theological philosophy is denominated Also theodicy or philosophical theology.
