E-Rice: Mobile App for Rice Production Management

The study focuses on the development of the “E-Rice: a mobile application Rice Production Management for Android”

The splash screen of the application is indicated at the first part of the app when the user starts to run the application. After the splash screen the main menu will appear next. Splash Screen shows the logo of the application. The Main Menu module is composed of rice information, rice simulation and exit button. These buttons are used by the user to view the given rice information, to start the rice production and to exit the application, respectively.

The Crop Calendar is use for the user’s activity from choosing types of rice then the field. From day 1 till it can be harvested. Here, the user can see improvements of his/her farm by the simulation of rice in a 3D object. It is imperative to manage a certain strategy on how to increase the productivity and supplement the income. There are also videos and links that a farmer can watch regarding to the production of rice.

The Rice Information, is use to know the different kind of seeds and its requirements in order to grow. Under rice information there is rice varieties of seeds that are common and most used seeds by the famers in the Philippines. There is also the type of soil where in it provides information of the soil that rice can grow. It also included the rice problems that the production of rice might encounter and its possible solution to it.

In Pest and Disease, common pest are shown like Stem borer, Black bug, Dango, Kuhol, Camaro and many more. The app also shows different pesticide solution to protect the rice such as Magnum 5, Rodant, Tango and King. These are the common spray use by the farmers.

In the Estimate Cost and Return section, 2 options are given - rice and fields. This can forecast direct cash outlays or cash payment for the use of different factors of production such as hired labor, fertilizer, chemicals, etc. the user will have the options to manage it. The prevailing prices in the community are used in the evaluation.

The application was created using the following tools: Unity 5.6.1 for the designed and development of the application. Adobe Photoshop CS6 and Adobe Illustration CC 2018 for the design and simulation of rice progress. Notepad ++ use for text editor and SQLite for database.

The application is not for IPhone Operating System and in Web Browser users, it is only for Android Platform. The application is recommended to play in mobile android phones.
