THE GIRL BEHIND THE MUSIC

Rebecca James is a genuinely talented 19 year old singer / songwriter who hails from Wales.

Embracing her art from an early age Rebecca started piano lessons and undertook vocal coaching to further develop her craft. Quickly realizing she had an ability to play by ear; Rebecca experimented and mastered her own unique way of playing and song-writing, and as an adaptable musician also took to the guitar as a second instrument.

After writing her first full song at 15 and having since added to an impressive and ever growing catalogue of original music, Rebecca has never looked back.

wowing the judges aged just 14 with her rendition of Christina Aguilera's You Lost Me at the UK Open Mic competition; she's gone on to build a solid live performance resume having supported the incredible Joan Armatrading and performed at London's prestigious O2 Arena.

Her debut release Thinkin’ Bout Me was featured on BBC radio's 'Introducing' and also received support from 1xtra, Reprezent and Mi-Soul in addition to community stations across the UK.

Online, Rebecca also won over the likes of Digital Spy, RWD and That Grape Juice.

Whilst remaining true to Rebecca's acoustic / songwriting roots, her forthcoming release 1000 Roses turns the notch up to the next level. Alongside desk-man-of-the-moment Slinky on production duties, Rebecca is a sure bet to be one of the key names to watch as the year draws to an end and gives way to 2015.
