Sari or saree or shari is a type of cloth worn by women in the countries of India, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. The clothes are clothing that consists of strands of cloth that is not sewn, variations vary in length from 4-9 meters that are worn on the body with various kind of style. The most common type is a sari wrapped around the waist, with the tip hooked from the shoulder to the back.

Sari has become synonymous with women all over the world and the West is sharper at trying traditional Indian clothing. However, Clothing in India has seen a definite transition and western fashion style definitely have an impact on Indians. One can find everyone from teenagers to adult adults trying to imitate western culture. Long skirts in girls' cases have paved the way for low waist denim, deep neck tops, short numbers like dresses, mini skirts, shorts etc. Boys see pants and shirts showing off while men checkered or striped love shirts lines and women's fancy dresses, half sari etc. Clothes in India have seen a mixture of western and ethnic wear.
