Advance è in gran parte il suo gioco, ma utilizza una mappa simile "tavolo da gioco".

Advance is mostly its own game, but uses a similar "board game" map. Instead of battles being timed and all armies moving at once, each force has its own turn, making Advance even more like a board game.

Characters have some similar attacks to their counterparts in the other Dynasty: War games, but there is no jumping, arrows, or mounts. Characters still level up and can acquire weapons hidden around the map. There is a new mechanic, a Gradius-style power meter that cycles through a number of powerups as you defeat enemies; you lose powerups as you take damage, and you start every battle with no power.

Her weapons in the sixth title are originally named after romantic and pristine images. They are moon incense Standard, a rainbow drop Skill, and flower tears Strength. Her skill chart has two hearts, likely a reference with her relationship with Lu Bu.

Tap both sides of screen: Draws in enemies by twirling weapon in an upright position to create a pink-tinted whirlwind. Following the attack's movements causes the whirlwind to grow larger and release flower petals.
